The 2006 All-Star game was loaded with legendary players: Iverson, Wade, Shaq, Kobe, Duncan, Nash, Mcgrady, Yao, Dirk, Garnett, Parker, Allen, Bosh, Vince. The East was down 21 points in the second half when the 21 year old LeBron James took control. Up against the best in the world, he scored 13 points in 6 minutes. He finished the game shooting an absolutely ridiculous 57.1% with 29 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 assists. The East narrowly won by 2 points and LeBron James was named MVP. The King had been crowned. The card has a limited print run of /25 and has been graded PSA 9. I fully expected this card to gem and was really disappointed when I got the grade back. There are no discernible flaws and for a card of its age and thickness, it really should have gemmed. The vivid blue patch is taken from LeBron’s 2006 All-Star Game Jersey. The blue patch has a corner with stitching and white jersey peeking beneath the bottom left corner. 2006 SP Game Used featured LeBron’s first All-Star Game worn patch. To my knowledge it is the first Lebron patch produced from a specific game. The gold parallel seldom comes up for sale as only 25 were produced. Given the 2006 ASG’s significance in LeBron’s career, this is undoubtedly one of his best memorabilia cards. With Fanatics’ upcoming Topps release featuring MLB Debut patches, cards like this are massively undervalued.
