Large Original print (lithograph) "Knight and Squire" by Irving Amen ( American 1918 ). Signed. Print has been placed in mat and inserted into the frame under glass. He also taught at the University of Notre Dame. After Amen's initial studies of painting and print making at Pratt, he left for Europe where he studied in Paris, France (c1950) and Italy (c1953). Amen's was a member of the International Institute of Arts and Letters, the International Society of Wood Engravers, the Accademia Fiorentina delle Arti Disegno in Florence, the Society of American Graphic Artists, and the American Color Print Society. Amen's exhibition history includes: Master Prints at the Museum of Modern Art in New York; the International Ausstellung von Holzschnitten in Zurich, Switzerland; Mednarodna Graficna Razstava in Ljubljana, Yugoslavia; the LV Biannale di Pittura Americana in Bordighera, Italy; Dessins Americains Contemporains; and the Amen Gallery in New York in the 1970s.
