The magnets for this assembly are Epoxy coated and SH grade in order to withstand high heat and high moisture applications. The surface field is measuring around 3,000 Gauss as shown on the meter. The zinc plated steel under the magnets has two holes in order allow easy attachment for any particular project you may be using it for. However in our experience, we have found this value tobe around 30% of the rated Pull Force value. Meaning, a magnet with aPull Force rating of 30lbs can approximately lift a 10lb object,assuming perfect conditions are present that maximize the magnetic materialproperties. Again, these values and estimates are not guarantees. All buyers should perform their own testing to validate all functionalityregarding each specific application and end use before implementation of thematerial. Our intent here is only to provide general reference forcustomers unfamiliar with magnetic materials. Pleasealso keep in mind that air gaps between the magnet face and ferrous materialwill greatly reduce Pull Force and Lift Capacity values. Air gapsinclude physical air as well as any other non-ferrous material. As anestimate, buyers can expect a loss of Pull Force and Lift Capacity at a rate of50% per .125" inch gap present between the magnet and ferrous material. Meaning, a magnet that has been proven capable to lift an object weighing4lbs will only be able to lift an object weighing 2lbs when a single .125"inch piece of wood is between the magnet and ferrous material being lifting. Again, we do not guarantee these values and they are being providedsolely as a basis for understanding of how magnetic material functions.
