The Avalon Adventure board game and Dungeon Crusade were built from the ground up for soloist gamers, but the games can also be played co-op just as easily. This auction is for the EXPERT MONSTER DIFFICULTY DECKS: This add-on includes an additional 186 monster cards that will increase the difficulty of the game. These decks include (90) Minion monster cards, (64) Champion monster cards and (32) Guardian monster cards. (The game ships with Normal-difficulty monsters.) Please note: It is possible to mix all of the difficulty decks together for a greater challenge! There is also another variant on how to use the extra monster difficulty decks as the monsters level up. Instructions are in the back of the Dungeon Crusade rulebook. Here's a few variants/mods to try out with Dungeon Crusade VARIANT 1: RANDOM DIFFICULTY MONSTERS SPAWN: - What you can do (after getting acclimated to the game) is mix ALL the monster difficulty decks together. That way, you will never know what your heroes will be facing in the dungeon and the chambers of the dungeon. -If you draw a monster or creature that is already spawned into the dungeon, just simply draw another monster card and shuffle the other one back into the deck. VARIANT 2: MONSTER DIFFICULTY SCALES UPON SLAYING THEM: - Another variant is monsters and creatures leveling up. What you do is start the game with Normal difficulty monsters. - As your heroes slay a certain monster, remove that Normal difficulty monster card from the game and replace it with the Expert difficulty version. - If that Expert monster is slain, replace that monster card with the Heroic difficulty monster card. - With this variant, the monsters in the game will level up to the next harder difficulty. Dungeon Crusade is a solo/co-operative sandbox dungeon crawl. Inspired by the classic age of board games, role-playing games, and video games, but fitted with new and fresh mechanics. In Dungeon Crusade, your heroes will enter an ancient dungeon located beneath a village to stem the tide of evil beleaguering the poor villagers. Each time your heroes venture into the dungeon, they will have an overarching goal they will need to achieve, but they can also pick up side quests and even some odd jobs from the tavern to modify their adventure further! 6 stalwart Heroes are accompanied by their trusty fetch hound Albus. Each Hero has strengths and weaknesses,' and it is up to you to decide if you will split the party to cover more ground or stick together in case a larger threat presents itself... In the dungeon, your heroes will encounter wandering monsters who move about with unpredictable movement patterns thanks to the exclusive Patrol Route system. But beware! These monsters might turn into raiding monsters and make their way to the village to raid it, thus raising the terror level. Your heroes can also mine for minerals to craft enhancements for their weapons. They can seek out and hunt down rare and legendary artifacts. Send their fetchhound Albus back to the village to get a potion in a pinch. If their quest is successful, then the village celebrates in their honor and throws them a grand feast and presents them party with gifts. This is known as 'Celebration Day'. The heroes can then shop around the village for new gear from the ever-changing marketplace, gamble some gold in the House of Chance, visit a temple, pray for a blessing, and more! Don't get too comfortable because evil never rests, and your heroes will find themselves back in the dungeon facing tougher challenges and monsters, but hopefully better armed!
